Music was never a peripheral interest; it was the very pulse of my beginning. From my earliest memories, I found myself captivated by the intricate geometry of Ragas and the infinite depths of the Hindustani tradition. As a dedicated vocalist, my life is a sadhana, a continuous refining of the self to ensure that every note carries both the weight of history and the lightness of a soul in flight. From the hushed, spiritual intimacy of Baithaks to the resonant energy of grand festivals, every stage has been a classroom, teaching me that true artistic expression is found in the space where the performer disappears and only the music remains.
My voice is a tapestry woven by the hands of masters. I have been profoundly shaped by the wisdom of Pt. Devashish Dey of the Banaras Gharana, the grace of Vidushi Tulika Ghosh, and the emotive brilliance of Smt. Sunanda Sharma and Acharya Jayant Bose. My time at the RASIPA Academy, learning under Padmashri Shanti Hiranandji, protege of the legendary Begum Akhtar infused my music with the soul of the Ghazal and Thumri traditions. These gurus did not just teach me technique; they gifted me the discipline to honor the past and the courage to breathe my own life into it.
To balance the intuition of the heart, I sought the structure of formal scholarship. My academic path culminating in a Master’s degree in Vocal Music (Khayal) from Rabindra Bharati University and five years of rigorous study at Prayag University has been the anchor of my artistry. This marriage of traditional Guru-Shishya wisdom and academic precision allows me to approach every performance with technical confidence and a scholar’s eye for detail, ensuring that the integrity of the Raga is never lost in the pursuit of beauty.
My vision is to be a bridge, a living link between the timeless echoes of our heritage and the vibrant, modern world. I strive to strip away the barriers of complexity, making Hindustani music an accessible sanctuary for the contemporary listener. Through every performance, every creative interpretation, and every student I mentor, my goal remains the same: to nurture a future where classical music is not a museum piece, but a breathing, vital force that continues to heal, inspire, and connect us across generations.
